Whether you call it Indies First or Small Business Saturday, November 29 is a great day to shop your local, independent bookstore! Sherman Alexie came up with the idea for writers to support their local indie by working at the store on Small Business Saturday 2013. The day was a huge hit. Thousands of authors across the country acted as guest booksellers and the Indies First movement was born.
Secret Garden’s guest salespeople will include Jaime Temairik, Elizabeth Rose Stanton, Toni Yuli, Dana Sullivan, Kim Baker, Julie Paschkis, Kira Brady, Kevin Emerson, Bonny Becker, Linda Johns, Laurie Thompson and Margot Page.
University Bookstore, Bellevue will get sales help from Janet Lee Carey, Justina Chen, Samantha Vamos, Robert Dugoni, Dana Sullivan, G. Elizabeth Kretchmer, Dan Richards, Claire Gebben, Kazu Kibuishi, Christina Dudley, William Dietrich and Laurie Thompson.
