For those of you who were inspired by our recent conference keynoter Kelly Milner Halls, whose nonfiction career spans decades and whose mantra of “weird” left a fantastic impression, here’s just the ticket!
The Children’s Nonfiction Publishing Conference is coming up this June in New York City. Organizer Lionel Bender (along with author/editor/Bainbridge Islander Jim Whiting) was co-presenter of the
first non-fiction intensive at our conference. Jim wants to emphasize that airfares are (reasonably) affordable,
housing is cheap, and all meals are included. While getting published is
never a walk in the park, the odds are considerably better in
nonfiction, he says, especially with the advent of common core standards.
